Demco Automation Sponsors Cancer Respite Foundation Event

Demco Automation was pleased to be a Silver Sponsor for the 2nd Annual Dave Duemler Memorial Golf Outing. The event raised over $24,000 to benefit “For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation”, a non-profit organization that assists adult cancer patients, their care-givers, and loved ones a break from cancer in a secure and comfortable environment.

This year, the foundation expects to serve 120 families, and over the past 15 years, more than 1,000 patients have been impacted by their dedicated efforts.

“…assemblers may want to give rotary indexing dials a second look. Machine builders have used new control technologies and some creative engineering to overcome the old limitations of dial systems. Assemblers may find that today’s rotary dials are more flexible than they once thought.”

“For example, Demco’s Wedge® system consists of preconfigured workstations that slide interchangeably into standard rotary or linear base machines. The base machine is run by a small PLC, which doesn’t control the stations, but rather acts as a traffic cop, coordinating their activity.”

Demco Automation Supports Technology in Philly Charter School

With technology being such an important part of the world today and into the future, Demco Automation is excited to support The Laboratory Charter School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in their quest to have computers as a useful tool in the classroom. The computers will help the students, aged 5-11 learn how to use computer-related technology in a hands-on way rather than using alternatives, such as pencil and paper activities.

Demco Automation Sponsors Fox Chase Cancer Center Event

For the third year, Demco Automation was a program sponsor for the Bucks County Chapter of the Board of Associates of Fox Chase Cancer Center’s 2014 fund raising event held at the James A. Michener Art Museum.  The event is used to raise funds for cancer research and all money raised at the event benefited research at Fox Chase Cancer Center with a  goal to raise $200,000.  Since 1983, the Bucks County Chapter has raised $3.6 million for the Fox Chase Cancer Center.

This year’s “Special Pledge” benefited precision medicine research. At Fox Chase, cancer specialists are able to use an individual’s unique DNA sequences to determine that person’s risk of cancer. They also use DNA sequencing to identify targeted treatments that can provide the best outcome for an individual patient. You can read more about precision medicine research here.

Demco Automation is now offering a Laser Mounting Stand for Keyence Laser Marking Systems.  The stand assists end-users in integrating laser marking with existing material handling or other production equipment. The Laser Mounting Stand provides a turnkey base platform for Keyence Laser applications. It is ready for to add safety guarding, fixtures, material handling, and/or automation. The stand includes ready-to-use mounting brackets for the Keyence Laser/Controller of choice, manual Z-Axis adjustment and integrated caster/leveling foot combination for convenient positioning. Also available is an optional Y-Axis adjustment, Stainless Steel Framing, Monitor Mount, and/or Monitor-Keyboard-Mouse Swivel Arm for local access to the Laser.

Demco Automation is a Silver Sponsor for the 2014 Engineers Week event in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. On February 21, the Lehigh Valley Engineering Council  (LVEC) hosts the Lehigh Valley Engineers Banquet that coincides with events by DiscoverE (formerly the National Engineers Week Foundation). LVEC is an umbrella organization of engineering societies spreading enthusiasm for the profession among future generations and developing opportunities for enhancing the professional development and recognition of area engineers.

This year’s speaker is  Professor Clinton J. Andrews of Rutgers University (distinguished IEEE lecturer) presenting the topic: Whose innovations are helping? Comparing climate change solutions from engineers, architects, planners, chemists, biologists, and others.

Awards are presented by the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers (PSPE) for Engineer of the Year and Young Engineer of the Year.

With an optional factory ERP interface, the workstation provides a ready-to-use base platform for laser marking applications when variable data such as serial numbers, product specifications, marking recipes, and other pertinent marking variations are required. Complete with system controls, safety guarding, and interlocks the Laser Marking Cell enables quick implementation of marking applications.
