Demco Automation is a regional leader in designing and constructing automated assembly systems for the medical device, electronics, pharmaceutical, automotive, and consumer/industrial industry sectors.  We are located in Quakertown, PA, and searching for a Machine Builder to join our team:

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Machine and/or fabricate various machine elements within custom automated assembly systems including areas such as mounting brackets, assembly mechanisms, robotic grippers, safety guarding, machine frames, pneumatic/motor-driven actuators.
• Assemble mechanical sub-assemblies, assemble guarding, and basic debugging of equipment.
• Perform machine adjustments, alignments, and other equipment setup-related tasks during project construction.
• Perform other duties as requested from time to time to fulfill corporate goals and objectives.

Experience & Requirements:
• 3-5 years minimum experience in conventional machining technologies including vertical milling machine, lathe, and surface grinder
• 2-4 years minimum experience in assembling mechanical sub-assemblies, mechanisms, or other systems
• Machining experience in various materials including but not limited to carbon steels, stainless steels, tool steels, and plastics
• Machine components to tolerances of +/- 0.005” (application specific) and below
• Proficient in reading machined part drawings with little or no assistance
• Familiarity with bearings, cams, linkages, pneumatic cylinders, ball screws, sensors and other equipment-related components
• Assemble mechanisms, machine frames, safety guarding
• Fabricate machine guarding and framing from aluminum extrusion, polycarbonate sheet, and basic thinner gauge sheet metal fabrications
• Operate fork truck and/or pallet jack equipment as needed
• Have the ability to lift 75 pounds
• Ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours a day
• Able to work in a fast paced, changing environment
• Work in team environment with Engineering, Management, and Manufacturing personnel to provide innovative solutions
• Regular Use of measuring instruments (caliper, micrometer, gauges, etc.)
• Working knowledge of pneumatics, bearings, slides, sensors, mechanical adjustments, dies, tooling, etc. is preferred but not required
• Experience in operating CNC vertical machining centers is preferred but not required
• Detail oriented
• Ability to prioritize and organize
• Good math and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task

The event raised over $24,000 to benefit “For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation”, a non-profit organization that assists adult cancer patients, their care-givers, and loved ones a break from cancer in a secure and comfortable environment.

This year, the foundation expects to serve 120 families, and over the past 15 years, more than 1,000 patients have been impacted by their dedicated efforts.

Demco Automation Supports Technology in Philly Charter School

With technology being such an important part of the world today and into the future, Demco Automation is excited to support The Laboratory Charter School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in their quest to have computers as a useful tool in the classroom. The computers will help the students, aged 5-11 learn how to use computer-related technology in a hands-on way rather than using alternatives, such as pencil and paper activities.

Demco Automation Sponsors Fox Chase Cancer Center Event

airlogoblackrgb1For the third year, Demco Automation was a program sponsor for the Bucks County Chapter of the Board of Associates of Fox Chase Cancer Center’s 2014 fund raising event held at the James A. Michener Art Museum.  The event is used to raise funds for cancer research and all money raised at the event benefited research at Fox Chase Cancer Center with a  goal to raise $200,000.  Since 1983, the Bucks County Chapter has raised $3.6 million for the Fox Chase Cancer Center.

This year’s “Special Pledge” benefited precision medicine research. At Fox Chase, cancer specialists are able to use an individual’s unique DNA sequences to determine that person’s risk of cancer. They also use DNA sequencing to identify targeted treatments that can provide the best outcome for an individual patient. You can read more about precision medicine research here.

Demco Automation offers Laser Marking Stand

Laser_Mounting_StandDemco Automation is now offering a Laser Mounting Stand for Keyence Laser Marking Systems.  The stand assists end-users in integrating laser marking with existing material handling or other production equipment. The Laser Mounting Stand provides a turnkey base platform for Keyence Laser applications. It is ready for to add safety guarding, fixtures, material handling, and/or automation. The stand includes ready-to-use mounting brackets for the Keyence Laser/Controller of choice, manual Z-Axis adjustment and integrated caster/leveling foot combination for convenient positioning. Also available is an optional Y-Axis adjustment, Stainless Steel Framing, Monitor Mount, and/or Monitor-Keyboard-Mouse Swivel Arm for local access to the Laser.
